Share Knowledge & Cultivate Connections
Joining Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms, USA (WWOOF-USA) isn't just about opening your doors to eager learners — it's about welcoming people from all over the world and sharing your expertise and passion about organic farming, growing food, and living sustainably.
Hosting WWOOFers offers you the opportunity to cultivate connections and pass on valuable farming skills to the next generation.
How Hosting WWOOFers Works
Any farm, community, homestead or garden project using organic methods can apply to become a WWOOF host.
Hosts mentor visitors while working alongside them, and treat them as guests by providing room and board during their stay.
Check out these three steps to get started:
1. Sign up as a Host
The first step to hosting is to sign up as a WWOOF member! You'll create your own host profile where you can describe your farm and pay a small membership fee to be listed in the host directory. Our team will review your profile and walk you through the host approval process.
2. Connect with WWOOFers
Our team will provide you with hosting tips and resources, and you can start communicating with WWOOFers right away. All visit arrangements are made directly between you and WWOOFers, but our staff are eager to answer questions and provide support along the way.
3. Inspire Future Farmers
Share your way of life and your expertise in organic farming! You’ll change lives by providing hands-on experience, knowledge-sharing, and helping visitors foster a deep connection to the land. Get started hosting today!
You will make a great WWOOF host if you:
- Are practicing organic growing and sustainable living methods.
- Will provide a safe and welcoming environment.
- Enjoy sharing your knowledge and daily life.
- Can provide lodging and three meals per day (you can welcome local visitors for a day if you don't have overnight accommodation).
Feedback from WWOOFers
“Earlier this month I completed my first solo trip to Vermont. I was able to stay at a homestead through WWOOF. WWOOF helped me explore a whole new way of living. This city girl held chickens, harvested and even moved sheep!
I wholeheartedly recommend taking a trip with WWOOF, so many homesteads/farms need help year round! I stayed with this amazing family for a week and left with memories for a lifetime.”

“I came to the farm with no prior knowledge on farming. They were great teachers and try to tailor what they teach to your interests. They have an amazing passion for organic farming and they love sharing it. It made for a great learning experience.
Everyone was so kind and easy to talk to. I enjoyed every conversation I had and learned a lot from them! I felt really welcomed and accepted. To top everything off, the food was amazing. I wish I could’ve stayed longer!”

“After two weeks on the farm, I left feeling rejuvenated and nourished both physically and spiritually. The host has a deep respect not only for the land she grows on and the plants that have been given a home there, but also for the people that help her along the way.
My stay at the farm was filled with time with the goats, sheep and pig, learning tons of new recipes, construction and lots more. I can’t wait to go back!”

"We’ve had WWOOFers for each season of the year to help with our homestead and animals for more than four years now. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship.
They learn about Alaska and living on a homestead, and we learn something new from each and every one of them that enhances our lives. They become part of our extended family!"
- Linda, WWOOF Host in Alaska
